About Me:
Here at Lipps Flemish, I raise, breed, and take pride in my Flemish Giant rabbits. I am located about 20 miles away from Noblesville, Indiana. Flemish Giants come in 7 ARBA recognized colors, Blue, Black, Fawn, Light Gray, Sandy, Steel, and White. I breed and show the Black and Light Gray varieties. Flemish make wonderful pets, and are almost like small dogs! All of my rabbits are show quality, and pedigreed. I show in 4-H, and am looking forward to furthering my showing. Previously to breeding Flemish, I bred Dutch rabbits. With whatever breed, I make sure to take care of each and every rabbit like they're part of the family!
Meet the Family:
Obi
Hey mom!
My light grey doe, and yes...her name is from Star Wars. Obi is a little more feminine than Obi-wan Kenobi though! She will be a year old in February, and got Reserve Champion in the 4H fair (July 2010). She made momma proud and got CHAMPION/ Best of Breed in the fair in 2012!!!! Woo hoo! Obi is a sweet-heart, and always pokes her head up to say "hello"...or "feed me"...I'm not quite sure!
Laya
Chillin' on the couch :)
Keeping with the Star Wars theme, but switching up the spelling, we come to Laya. Turning a year old in March, Laya is my smallest (and youngest) Flemish. Like Obi, Laya is a sweet-heart...she always wants loved on! Laya got a blue ribbon in the fair this summer (July 2010).
Yoda
My, what big ears you have!
Yoda's picture just doesn't do him justice! He is my beautiful black buck that will be two years old in December 2011. Yoda is pretty mellow, but he DOES prefer girls over guys. He got a blue in his breed class and in the fur class this past summer (July 2010). Yoda is my biggest rabbit, and I'd guess he's about 19 or 20 pounds...he's just like a small dog only less noisy!
Barracuda (Bear)
My baby...BOY :)
This is my little baby....Bear. He is a lionhead buck...yes, buck. He's super sweet and cuddly...and obviously doesn't mind the occasional makeover! Bear is about 3 years old, and I've been showing him at the 4H fair along with my Flemish. Lionheads aren't a recognized ARBA breed, but the judges said that he has all of the characteristics they're looking for in the breed. He's gotten a blue the past 3 years, and hopefully will do better when lionheads become a breed!
